Founder
Chris Mahatma is the Founder and Managing Partner of Athenaeum Advisors, providing advisory services to private companies, fund sponsors, and private markets investors. Chris has over 16 years of private markets experience.
Prior to launching Athenaeum Advisors, Chris was a Senior Investment Leader focused on private equity fund commitments, co-investments, and secondaries at Partners Group, a c.$175 billion alternatives investment firm. Previously, he was a co-founding member of Cloverlay, an investment firm focused on non-traditional private markets; he helped fundraise over $1 billion in investor commitments. Prior to Cloverlay, he was at LLR Partners as a member of the Financial Services Growth Equity team. Chris began his career in private markets at Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners.
Chris is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a CFA Charterholder. He lives outside of Denver with his wife and their three (somewhat naughty, but very cute) dogs.
